Full time, Exempt position: Monday-Friday, 9am - 5pm. Occasional weekend or evening hours may be assigned as needed.


$36,400-$40,560 starting salary range, may be higher based on experience

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to support the Asian Center’s Youth Program that serves 300-400 youth annually by ensuring that the program goals and grant objectives are being met, supporting the program staff in achieving those goals, and providing oversight of the program budget.

This person will be responsible for coordinating various grants that fund the Asian Center’s Youth Program, monitoring grant compliance, overseeing the program budget, applying for new or renewed funding, and completing reports. This person will supervise and work closely with the other youth coordinators and part-time youth program staff to ensure fulfillment of grant requirements.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate Youth Program grants, monitoring for compliance and overseeing budgets
  • Complete grant reports for Youth Program grants
  • Apply for new and renewed funding for the Youth Program
  • Manage youth coordinators to facilitate staff growth and development and ensure grant requirements are met
  • Coordinate multiple weekly after-school, school-day, or weekend youth programs at select high schools, middle schools, or at the Asian Center
  • Work with Youth Program Coordinator I to run weekly youth staff meetings, schedule regular check-ins with direct reports and with supervisor
  • Develop relationships with LPS community liaisons, ELL teachers, guidance counselors, parents, and others that can help form a community of support and success
  • Recruit participants for programs, including using community contacts and knowledge to seek out potential participants and identify community members’ needs
  • Document all contacts with youth in spreadsheets and databases for use in reports; assist in completing reports and managing grants
  • May work with Volunteer Coordinator and Programs Manager to help train, assign, and manage volunteers and interns who assist with the Youth Program
  • Mentor a caseload of 30 youth through one-to-one case management
  • Provide oversight to interns and volunteers involved with youth programs, must be knowledgeable of policies and procedures governing interns and volunteers
  • Attend and successfully complete all required training programs
  • Act as a representative of the ACCC in public forums in a positive, knowledgeable, and professional manner
  • May provide additional transportation in company vans, must complete van training

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of direct staff management experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with high school and/or middle school students strongly preferred
  • Experience planning events or programs, teaching, or other related skills preferred
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate team-building, problem solving, time management, and decision making skills
  • Communicate in a friendly and informative manner with people from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Calendar), etc.
