Citizenship Classes
Asian Center staff work with immigrants and refugees seeking to gain citizenship by preparing them for their evaluation. Our focus is to ensure that students feel comfortable with all information that will be tested, which has generated great success. English Language Classes
Asian Center staff facilitate the classes. This program is open to any member of the Asian community in Lincoln who are looking to improve their skills in English. Translation Services
At the Asian Center we try to act as liaisons between the Lincoln community as a whole and the Asian population included within it. It is often difficult for immigrants and refugees to acquire help from social institutions that are in place due to a language barrier. To help individuals overcome this we offer our services in translating important documents from Vietnamese to English and English to Vietnamese. We have several bilingual staff and accept walk-ins.
Volunteer Tax Service
The Asian Community and Cultural Center is a participating in the VITA program which is overseen by the IRS. This program offers free tax preparation, and e-filing if the client chooses. We have a limited staff for this project so we are only able to accept clients by appointment.
